You run into your friend Sadie at a cafe. She seems really
excited about a new software project.
The project isn’t the thing that’s got her so pumped,
she is thrilled with the new hire, Carl.
She continues to sing the praises of Carl “He is always
available to collaborate, completes his work before
deadlines and consistently brings new ideas to the table…”
As Sadie keeps talking, you ruminate over how amazing
it would be to have such an efficient developer in your team.
You finally ask her “Well, can I meet him?”

He works remotely from a different country.”
Without even thinking, you reply “What? You should
know remote hiring never ends well.”
